Bethany Williams, 20, from Edgmond, second year BSc Countryside and Environmental Management, has received a scholarship from The Millichope Foundation.
Beth, a former Burton Borough school and New College Telford student, said: “The scholarship will enable me to fund specialist training and licensing needed to work on conservation projects whilst on placement with the Shropshire Wildlife Trust, for which I am extremely grateful.
“I am going to be taking a voluntary placement with the Shropshire Wildlife Trust commencing summer 2014, conducting environmental surveys within reserves and conservation areas across Shropshire. When I graduate, I hope to either further my academic studies or pursue a career as an environmental consultant.”
Beth is a seasonal volunteer at the National Trust property Sunnycroft in Wellington.
