Our top tips to apply through Clearing

    • Be prepared
Do your research in advance: make a list of the universities and courses you are interested in and the numbers to call. Have something at hand to make notes of information.
    • Keep trying
Be patient, on A-Level results day our phone lines may be busy, so keep calm and keep trying. You can also contact the Admissions team at admissions@harper-adams.ac.uk but responses to emails will be delayed on results days so it is best to call if you can.
    • Find a quiet space
Find a space you feel comfortable in that has no distractions to make your calls from. Make sure you have a reliable network. You must make the call yourself, as we are unable to talk to someone on your behalf (unless you are with them and need them for support, due to exceptional circumstances).  Ensure that you have access to the internet - this is important as you will be able to research alternative courses and importantly, if you are offered a place, you need to be able to access UCAS Hub and your emails to accept the offer.
    • Have your results ready
Have your results in front of you when you phone, as well as your UCAS ID number (if you have one), so we can easily find your application online. If we can make you an offer, we may ask you to scan and email proof of your results across to us along with your GCSE certificates.
    • Ask us anything
Ask as many questions as you like - there are no silly questions and our experienced Admissions team are happy to discuss any queries with you.
    • Visit Us
Our Clearing Open Days are for all Clearing applicants whether you have visited previously or not. They are the perfect opportunity to take a look at the campus, learn more about our courses and speak with our incredible staff and students. Our post-Clearing open day is on Saturday 15th August.
    • Be 100% happy
Before accepting any offer, ensure that you are 100% happy. Do not feel pressured by deadlines imposed by other institutions and do not be afraid to ask for more time to decide. You are the one who will be studying the subject so choose something you enjoy and that will help with your future career aspirations.
