The Belmont Farms Scholarship is open to all 2nd year BSc or 1st year FdSc students studying at HAU who are interested in pursuing a career in the Pig Industry with Belmont Farms

Please note: a placement year with Belmont Farms must be suitable for your course area.  Should you require further clarification please discuss with your Placement Manager.

The Scholarship

Belmont Farms may award one scholarship and, if awarded, the successful recipient will receive:

• a significant contribution towards their education of £9,000 in the year prior to placement
• A scholarship of £4,500 is awarded in the current academic year with the opportunity to be awarded up to a further £4,500 scholarship subject to satisfactory completion of your Industrial Placement
• Employment with Belmont Farms during their placement year

A condition of your scholarship is that you undertake your placement year with JMW Farms.

The award will be paid in two equal parts; half to be paid in February 2026 and the remaining balance in May 2026

This is a competitive award which will be evaluated on merit of the submitted application, academic achievements to date and interview. The decision of the Belmomt Farms Scholarship panel is FINAL.

Deadline for Submission of Application: 12pm Noon Monday 17 November 2025

The Belmont Farms Scholarship includes a placement, therefore you must submit your application via the Student Dashboard placement pages.  Paper copies will not be accepted.

Please note: you may only apply for a maximum of three placement based scholarships.
